Emulate third button in Ubuntu 12.04

For as long as I have been a Unix user, one could emulate a middle click by simultaneously clicking the left and right mouse buttons.  For those new to Linux, this is desirable because just by selecting text it is copied to the buffer.  You can then paste by middle-clicking.  No copy and paste necessary.  Unfortunately, the folks at Xorg decided that this feature caused more problems than it solved.  Thankfully, this functionality is fairly easy to restore.  There are several ways of doing so, the best for me being:

gsettings set org.gnome.settings-daemon.peripherals.mouse middle-button-enabled true
