ThinkPad X1 Carbon: We have a winner!

Posted by

According to early reviews, it sounds like Lenovo has knocked it out of the park with their first ThinkPad Ultrabook, the ThinkPad X1 Carbon. A 14″ screen in a 13″ chassis, 0.31″-0.71″ thick, brilliant backlit keyboard, 1600×900 matte screen, fast, 3lbs, 6 hours on the battery, and virtually silent. I have to say, I look forward to owning one of these in a couple of years when the price comes down and Linux compatibility is a guarantee.

Best of all: It’s not trying to copy Apple, and has features that are marked improvements over the MacBook Air.  It can be done.

Congratulations, Lenovo!
