Adding NeatX and OpenNX to Debian 6.0

Posted by

I discussed the more general case for adding individual PPAs to a Debian 6.0 installation here. I first did this in order to add neatx, a nxclient-compatible server to replace freenx.

Here are the step-by-step instructions for adding neatx to your system:

  1. sudo su
  2. sudo apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-keys D018A4CE
  3. echo "deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/freenx-team/ppa/ubuntu lucid main" >> /etc/apt/sources.list
  4. apt-get update && apt-get install neatx-server opennx

That’s it.  You’ve now installed the NeatX NX server and the OpenNX NX client.  You’re ready to go!
